WHAT'S NEW
|
What's Been Happening? September 15, 2007 became a significant date for Interfaith Hospitality Network of Somerset County. On that date we moved a family from the Emergency Shelter component of our programming to the second apartment in our Phase 3/Permanent Supported Housing. Phase 3 is the completion segment of our "continuum of care" for homeless families. When the NJ Department of Community Affairs awarded IHN/SC two State Rental Assistance Program project based vouchers, we added the provision of permanent supported housing to our client services.
Our Phase 3 Permanent Supported Housing Program is a bright light at the end of a tunnel for previously homeless families.
The winning ticket for our annual “Have A Heart For Homeless Families” 50/50 raffle was pulled on Valentine’s Day, Feb. 14, 2008. The winner won $11,200 and graciously made a donation back to the agency. The winning ticket was sold at St. James R.C. Church in Basking Ridge, NJ and pulled by one of our Volunteer Coordinators, Dottie Benjamin from Bishop Jane’s United Methodist Church in Basking Ridge.
